A Day with Gramps

Since we put our house up for sale 2 weeks ago, we have had 10 showings and 2 open houses. That's great... But now we just want someone to buy it! In the meantime, we have have been cleaning like maniacs and spending a lot of time at my parent's house. Today we got to hang out with Papa Leo. He likes to build giant towers and the girls like to either knock them down, or very delicately take single blocks from the structure. Some day they will be Jenga champions.

A Day of Firsts

Today Grandma Joli and Savannah came for lunch and a little shopping. They decided to bring the girls and me some lunch... Mc Donald's (per Savannah's request)! The girls got to experience their first Happy Meal. They both enjoyed splitting a plain cheeseburger (ack) and whole milk. After lunch we took a trip to Sam's Club. The girls had never been there before, until today. Upon our arrival, we were excited to see that they had double carts! Yay! A twin mama's dream! Izzy and Ava liked it too. And last, Izzy started walking today! This morning she took 5 steps, about three different times. I consider that walking. Sorry, no video... yet!

Yep, they're growing up.

You know the babes are growing up when you have to put a pony in their hair to keep it from going into their eyes. The problem is, Izzy isn't too fond of having ANYTHING in her hair or on her head these days. Let's hope she gets used to it because I'm not cutting her hair!

Happy Valentine's Day

One year ago today, we all came home from the hospital as a family. What a great day that was! Ever since then we have been madly in love with our two little girls. For Valentine's Day, the girls got some new cutie, valentine jammies and had pink, heart pancakes for dinner. Cory and I didn't exchange gifts, so he got a card and some much needed vanilla coffee creamer that we have been out of for quite sometime... I know, I should get an award, "Wife of the Year".

Happy Valentine's Day everybody!

And just to show what a sweetheart I am

Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration

The second birthday celebration was yesterday. We invited all of our family to celebrate the girls' first birthday. I decided to do a Dr. Seuss- Thing 1, Thing 2 theme and make all of the decorations. I got all of the ideas from a couple of cute blogs online (I'm addicted to blogs). It was fun! The treats were all Dr. Seuss themed. We had green eggs (deviled) and ham (sandwiches); One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish (goldfish crackers); Cupcake Things (red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting and blue cotton candy top); Yertle's Caramel Turtles (pretzel, rolo, M & M treat); Pink Yink Drink (strawberry lemonade); Poodles Eating Noodles (tuna salad); and Truffula Fruit (fruit salad). It was YUMMY! The girls were dressed up as Thing 1 and Thing 2 (with cutsie tutus of course).

They found the balloons!

Lots of new books, toys, and outfits! Thanks everyone!

It was so fun to watch the girls celebrate their birthday with all of our family. It's amazing that they both made it through the day with no tantrums or major meltdowns! We sure are lucky to have two, sweet, baby girls! WHO ARE ONE! Happy birthday sweet girls!

Birthday Celebration #1

The girls' actual birthday was on Wednesday, Feb. 8th. That is when our first celebration took place. We celebrated by having pancakes for dinner (their favorite) and a giant cupcake for each of them.
Ava didn't really care for the cupcake, half of it ended up on the freshly painted walls. But Izzy LOVED the sweet treat!

It's about time...

A glimpse of our little walker...

Happy 1st Birthday Ava & Izzy!

The girls are ONE! Boy that year sure did fly by! People said that as the girls got older, things would get easier. I'm not so sure about that advice. Lately, the girls are crawling (and walking) in opposite directions, getting into EVERYTHING they're not supposed to,  and have started thinking that when mama and daddy say "NO", it's the most hilarious thing in the world. We are in trouble. Here are a few pictures from their birthday, Feb. 8, 2012.

Happy 1st birthday, Izzy!
