A trip to the park.

Today was such a beautiful day! I decided it was time to venture down the street and brave the park. It was the first time the girls have been to the park... AND, they were FREE! They loved roaming wherever they wished and they sure did keep me busy running in separate directions! They discovered wood chips and dandelions and tried to eat both. They loved the swings and the giant hippo. I'm sure the park will become our second home this summer.

A little privacy.

Over the last few weeks, my project has been to find window treatments. It is not a very enjoyable job. But, little by little the windows are getting covered. Today's project was to make front door, side window curtains. It only took about 30 minutes! I'm surprised at how easy they were to make! Here's the finished product. I'm pretty sure the girls are not going to appreciate the fact that I covered up their view to the outside world.

Before...no curtains... the girls loved it

Easter Eggstravaganza

It was fun to get ready for Easter this year. I knew the girls would be so excited to find their baskets and have an Easter egg hunt. When they woke up, daddy brought them downstairs. Almost immediately, Ava found her basket and took out her new baby with stroller, and shoes. Soon after, Izzy found her basket with a new baby and new shoes! Once the girls spotted the first few eggs that were scattered about, the egg hunt began. Ava screeched with joy every time she found one. It didn't take them long to realize that there were goodies inside. Marshmallow bunnies and mini Teddy Grahams were the treat. After our festivities, we headed over to my parents house for a yummy turkey dinner and another egg hunt! Then we went to Cory's aunt's house for some tasty dessert. The girls had a fun filled Easter, that's for sure!

Beach Babes

Over spring break, we took a trip down to Alabama to visit my childhood friend Alica and her family. Cory and I were scared to death to take the girls on an airplane, we had fears of being "those parents" who have the screaming, obnoxious children on the airplane. After a 7 hour delay in the Detroit airport, and no major meltdowns, we knew we had two awesome travelers. We arrived in Birmingham at 11:45 pm (rather than 4:30), and hit the hay. The next day we got to visit with the Mooney girls (20 mo., 3 yrs, and 5 yrs) and then we all packed up and drove down to Navarre Beach, FL  to stay in a condo for 5 days. We had the most amazing time together. Izzy and Ava loved the ocean and enjoyed playing with a bucket of water on the beach blanket. The girls probably ingested about of cup of sand (each), but it didn't seem to phase them. We can't wait to visit the beach again! Here are a TON of photos from our trip...

At this point, we were only delayed an hour
